Stampotique challenge art journaling page.

This Art Journaling page I made eminated from a quote I heard from Donna Downey who had found it on the Internet and for some reason, it really spoke to my sister and me. We have these sister challenges now and again, and this quote was just perfect as s starting point. Now the materials used were totally free, the only rule was: use the quote. And straight away I thought: Stampotique stamps!!

I started with applying pink acryllic paint on a non gessoed surface with an old creditcard. After drying I added gesso here and there, also with a credit card. Then I sprayed Dylusions Squeezed Orange which gave a different effect on the pink, the gesso and on the parts of the paper that weren't covered by anything. Love it. I stamped over it with green Memento and made striped with the side of the creditcard and gesso and black acrylic paint. The pink circles were made by adding some Dylusions Bubblegum Pink to my leftover gesso and the top of the Dylusion bottle. Then I took a stncil and texture paste and made the random squares which slightly took on the colour of the Dylusions I used.

Here are the two pages side by side. As you can see I also stamps some flowers here and there which I coloured in with a brush and Dylusions; they have a pink rhinestone heart.












Now my lovely Stampotique crafter girl was stamped on Copics paper and also coloured in with Copics. I then cut her out and added the details around her (like the fraying of her dress and stockings) with a Copic fineliner. I als used some washi tape as the ground for her to stand on and here and there as extra accent.

My first blogpost on my brandnew blog. Mijn eerste bericht op mijn gloednieuwe blog.

This is so exciting girls (and the occasional guy), a brandnew blog with no followers as yet LOL! That makes a difference from my other blog (http://creafrea.blogspot.nl/) with some 370+ followers.  A while ago I found a new world called Mixed Media, and I just love it. So far I have been posting my mixed media projects on my current blog, but I found that most of my followers weren't really that interested. And so I decided to start a brandnew blog which will post only mixed media projects, art journaling pages and altered art. I hope to gather a lot of followers here too and I hope to inspire you guys with my messyness. Of course there will be the occasional candy, and I really feel one coming up already. So, do hop aboard!
Jongens wat spannend, een heel nieuw blog met nog geen enkele volger haha! Even wat anders dan mijn andere blog waarop ik 370+ volgers heb. Een tijd geleden ben ik begonnen met Mixed Media, en hoewel ik alle gemaakte projecten gewoon op mijn Creafrea blog heb geplaatst, merk ik dat de interesse van mijn volgers hier niet naar uitgaat. Vandaar mijn beslissing om een apart blog te starten dat zich uitsluitend richt op Art Journaling en Mixed Media. Ik hoop dat ik ook hier een flink aantal volgers ga verzamelen, maar dan mede aanhangers van dit soort projecten. Wat jullie kunnen verwachten? Regelmatig Mixed Media projecten, canvassen, altered art enzovoort. En natuurlijk zit er al heel snel een candy aan te komen, daarover binnenkort meer. Omdat mijn blog echt internationaal ingericht is zullen jullie hier steeds de Engelse teksten eerst vinden, maar uiteraard komt alles er ook in het Nederlands op te staan. Ik hoop heel veel liefhebbers als volger te krijgen, jullie zijn allemaal van harte welkom.

Dit was mijn allereerste poging tot mixed media, en ik was zo blij met het eindresultaat, ik vind 'm nog steeds mooi.
