It's been ages since I posted, so sorry about that....but here I am!

The last time I did a post on my blog was in my holiday, nearly a month ago. It was in that same holiday I made the background for this spread, and I didn't like it one bit. I actually wanted to gesso over it, but my sister forbad it. So I left it and never looked at it again. Until tonight, and all of a sudden there was this nightmare background staring back at me. I took out this Stampotique stamp and stamped her 3 times, coloured her in with Copics and stamped her on the background. Then I cut her coloured version out and glued her down, with this result.

I went looking for a quote on nightmares, but couldn't really find one that appealed to me, and then I thought the obvious; everyone has them, those nightmares you can't seem to wake up from. You wake up in terror, fall back asleep, and presto, you're back where you left. Thank goodness I don't often have them, but after one of those nights, you wake up feeling you've been hit by a freight train! Anyhow, I wrote the text with a Molotow red marker, and it stood out quite nicely. Hope you like my spread.

Have a great week!

  1. Frea, this turned out (after much time) to be a very entertaining journal spread. It reminded me of "if you get lemons, make lemonade!" Here you had what you thought was a nightmare of a background, and you turned it into another nightmare! I have to admit to having a recurring nightmare as a child--not so much as an adult! Love the background stenciling, and the image is perfect for the morning after such a nightmare! Just look at those eyes! Thanks so much for coming back to the Stampotique Designers' Challenge--you were missed!
