I love vintage!!

Went to the demo days of Doe@Ding yesterday, and of course bought loads of good stuff, which just hád to be used. To I made this vintage layout in my Donna Downey journal. I started out with to shades of Blueish green acrylic paint. Then I glued down dome pieces of design papers with mat gel medium. I then took my brandnew Lindy's stamp gang Starburst sprays and sprayed some yummy colour and glimmer on the spread.

Lots to see on this spread, so here are some detail pictures.

Here you see the left and right page enlarged.

Now my sister Annika found some of that corny plastic lace used to decorate shelves in your kitchen. I took some texture past and added acrylic paints in order to make it off white and smeared that through the 'lace'. After that I sprayed some Glimmer Mist Suede on to make it look even more vintage.
Also brandnew is this lovely stuff I used for the heart. I stamped with Perfect Medium a heart on my spread, and then added embossing tinsel, bronze glass glitter and tea stained mica flakes from a set by Stampendous called Frantage Encrusted. Love the result. You'll see all sorts of new stuff on this layout which I bought yesterday on the Doe@Ding demoday. I added some shading around the heart with a black Faber Castell Pitt Pen.
Then I printed out a digi I won once on a challenge blog. Can't for the life of me remember which one (blush). I coloured her up with my copics and paper pieces the dress and parasol with papers from K & Company called Ancestry. I added some shadow in the pleats of the dress and underneath the parasol as well. Around the image I added shadow with a black Faber Castell Pitt pen.
I hope you like this one, I sure enjoyed making it! Hugs Frea

Craft Barn Dictionary Challenge; G = grotesque.

This time the letter G was up for the Craft Barn Dictionary, and I had an entire list of words to pick from. However, I always try to pick a word that hasn't been used yet, and even though I haven't checked, I think this one will probably not have been used: grotesque. This image is a digi by Delicious Doodles, and it depicts a Selky. That is a mythical creature from Scottish tales. I coloured her with my Copics and added Perfect Pearls mixed with water to the tail.
I wanted the eyes to have a 'fishy' look, and so I left the pupils white instead of colouring them black. Then  I added Glossy Accents to further enhance that effect.
I stamped the waterdrops with a stamp by Rynn Design, and they look very realistic. I decided to add large drops of Glossy Accents which makes them look even more real. I think they look amazing.
And then of course I owe you my word: grotesque. I had a bit of trouble because I wanted the image to cover near enough the entire page, but then it also covered the word. I therefore cut the word loose on three sides, glued down the image, and then glue the word back on top of it. Works for me......
Hope you like it girls, and I'm off to have a looksy at your creations. Hugs Frea

At last another Dylusions layout.

I started this background when in France on holiday with my Dylusions sea creature stamps in my mind. I sprayed Campo Teal, Fresh Lime, en a little bit of Crushed Lemon in the middle and Midnight Blue on the outside. I used my Tattered Angels glimmer screen for the compasses with the water ghosting technique both in positive and negative. The 'coral' at the bottom were also done with a Tattered Angels glimmer screen. It's actually a tree, but really looks like coral don't you think?! The circles were made with gesso and a cap from a deodorant spray and I think it was a hairspray from someone LOL!
Now I had to finish my layout at home, because I didn't bring my copics and I wanted the sea creatures and the image to have really bright colours which you can't achieve with pencils. This is the endresult, you can find some detailpicture below.
I totally changed this Dylusions stamp by giving her different hair and using the jellyfish tentacles for 'legs'.
Lots of crabs in different colours.
Not entirely happy with the sentiment which I printed on tissuepaper, and normally that will sort of 'sink' into the page, but this time it stayed very much visible. Bummer! Now all the fussy cutting took me ages and ages but I really love the endresult and I hope you like it too.
Have a great week, hugs Frea

So proud of this one, Z for Zombie.

Sometimes a page really comes together and this one did. I love the way it turned out, have a look!
I started with gluing some tulle down with matte gel medium. Then I glued the image down of a haunted house which I downloaded from the Internet. Next step I used Nerchau Structuring Fiber Paste for the ground which I covered with an open weave ribbon. After drying I painted all around the picture with Blonde Moments Suet Blue Lustre paint which has a shimmer and green acryllic paint which I gave a shimmer by adding Perfect Pearls. After drying I made a wash by mixing black acryllic paind with Golden Glaze. I painted all over, waited for a minute and then wiped with a baby wipe.
The gate was stamped with black embossingpowder. It's a Paper Artsy Stamp I bought this summer in France when I was there on holiday. I was lucky enough to find a craft shop that was going to close down and they were selling everything at a 70% discount, so I got this stamp for only € 8,-. I was over the moon with my find LOL! It does give a lot of depth to the page don't you think?
This handsom fellow is de digistamp bij Rick St. Dennis and I coloured him with Copics. I think the quality of the drawing is stunning, and so are his other stamps. After I finished the page I found his clothes were much too brownish so I gave the entire image a layer of cools greys and that did the trick.
At the top of my page I used texture paste and a stencil with branches on both sides. I took some gauze and took it apart. The threads make lovely fake cobwebs when you glue them down with mat gel medium. The cat, the bats and the spiders are satin Halloween decorations which I bought in a bag together with some pumpkins and skulls.

So that was it, I do hope you like my page and I'm off to check out what everyone else has made with the letter Z. Have a great Sunday, hugs Frea
I will enter my card for the Craft Barn Dictionary Challenge.

When it rains.....you need an umbrella.

Well ladies, isn't that the truth?! But I still owed you a page in my dictionary with a word starting with the letter 'u', because I was on holiday at the time and missed that one. I picked the word 'umbrella' and here's my page. I started out with some greens and a grey for the sky. In the background I stamped raindrops with an ancient stamp from Sirius Hobby and a grey Memento stamp pad. The 'grass' was made with a palet knife.
The image is of course a Stampotique image which I coloured with Copics and glued down with a mat gel medium. Obviously you can't cut out all those little lines, but check out France Papillons videos on You Tube to see how to do that, she explains it so well! http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3lkm39DsSZUqRGJg5REtFg) The chair is standing on some washi tape to prevent the image and chair from 'floating' on the page.
Those dark clouds were made with several shades of grey acrylic paint, (have you read the book LOL), which I puffed up by heating it with the heat tool, thus creating texture.
And, last but not entirely unimportant, the word, which translates in Dutch as: 'paraplu'.
Hope you enjoyed my page and I wish you a wonderful Sunday.

Groetjes Frea
